I’m not a man of resolutions, but I plan a lot, especially in early January. To me, you’ve just given us the perfect simple goals for the year ahead with the last one being the most important:
I was outside in the sunshine taking the long way around today too. I walked to the next village to the funeral of lady who had lived to be a hundred and it seemed right to think about her and celebrate life by walking in the sunshine, despite being generously offered lifts by friends. On the way back I took the long route through a wood where the wild garlic grows.....wishing it was there.......
It's a funny thing that in the uncertainty of how long we have we still feel the pressure not to go the long way around as there's not enough time. Not long til the wild garlic...
I’d never heard of three-cornered leek and will be on the lookout from now on. By the way, you’ve reminded me of a children’s book I wanted to write called The Sneeze that Never Happened, inspired my baby son’s face when one of those sneeze-tickles was orbiting.
Yesterday the sun played a good game. Pleased you got time with your Ma. And cake. I'm still a little unsure what I think about the schedule 9ing of plants, so I've contracted my opinions on the matter out to Them Wot Gets Paid To Know Better. Let's just hope some bright spark doesn't decide to give us a referendum on it. 🤔
I could almost taste that delicious omelette. I agree with you about January and February but at least then March beckons bringing with it the promise of spring and warmer days ahead.

simplicity
see mum
cook for people you love
be outside when the sunshines
take the long way round
boldness and courage
cake
Agreed!
Thanks JP. I call them resolutions as it’s easy shorthand but like you it’s often goals, intentions, setting some kind of focus even.

Now THIS is how to make resolutions. Beautiful.

It's one of those brilliant ideas that you know would be HUGELY successful....and because it's been written about and encouraged here I'm due 15%
Fair enough. Actually, it was called The Lost Sneeze - now I can’t decide which is better
Could that be the second book in the series?
Followed by The Sneeze That Came To Stay...
OMG YES!!! 🤧
And Who Wouldn't Go Away
I would buy this in a heartbeat!
Me too!

'let's not have a referendum on it' is a resolution for any new year isn't it
It really is.
An exceptionally good scrambled egg lunch x
I’m very glad you think so x

March won’t be too long will it
A handful of foraged greens and a few eggs is a perfect marriage. Thanks for the walk along.
Thank you for being here for the walk!
Nice piece Mark , Tim Maddams is a mate as well , small world !
Thanks Johnnie - and yes, the smallest!
