Lovely. Lev’s Six Things looks like being a keeper of a curio site. I do sometimes think the key to a good public playlist in is putting nothing too obvious on there. It’s been a while since I listened to The Boy With The Arab Strap. And Angels with Ashes. And did Dusty’s voice ever not make a song so beautifully listenable?

That’s clever - how you embed your Spotify playlist into Substack. Love Leonard Cohen’s You want it darker.

That squash harira looks the business, Mark.

Also, a smart idea, this easily digestible compendium … lots to dip in and out of. Lovely stuff. Have a great week. Barrie

As you know, I’m a curious curator myself. It’s a very nice way to consume the interesting stuff … and you have a whole bunch of that going on!

My Chilean guava is my special secret. Husband & grandchildren (not birds) have realised how delicious they are, so there are actually berries left on the bush for me to enjoy every time I walk up or down our steps. Thanks as ever for a wonderful column xx

Firstly, hugest congratulations on your nomination. Are we able to vote in any way? Regardless, you have my vote, ten times over.

I did not expect to see Frank Ocean on the October playlist. He is one of my go-to voices when I need a little soothing, and perfect for when you need to lean in to a broken heart to get it out of your system (then I switch it up to a selection of his other songs, bringing me right back up again)

I feel such joy seeing Country Life in this, and knowing that people will find the world of CL through you, and you through CL! (and yes, I will nudge the digital team about the headshot tomorrow...) x

Thank you Amie Elizabeth, and for your brilliance at CL. Very glad we share the Frank O love! Alas, there is no voting on the awards - a team of judges get the say, but THANK YOU…and for the headshot nudging! x
