Somewhere high in the sky, someone is wobbling a very large sheet of aluminium. Mid-morning, the weight of the air changed and everything switched focus: the gentle swish of the upper branches and birdsong brought to the fore, and everything else quietened1. A few minutes later, a warm welcome wind ran up the valley like a tide looking for its source.
