This is so going to sneak round my "no more physical cook books" defences. Got to be done. Resistance is futile.

I absolutely do not need another cookbook but since HERB is one of my favourites - for the snortling it induces but also for the wonderful information and ideas - I shall ask someone to give it to me for Christmas. I don't have SOUR either ...

That's so great to hear, thank you. I f you are thinking about both SOUR and SPICE, then this may be useful - we have SPICE, SOUR and HERB for £42 plus p&p (the p&p will also cover any plants or seeds etc) which is better than buy two get one free! https://www.otterfarm.co.uk/product/spice-herb-a-cooks-companion-and-sour/

Well I, for one, am happy to add another cookbook to my collection even though I really HAVE run out of shelf space!

Many congratulations on this new addition to the series, Mark! I imagine that you have mixed emotions at this stage but I am sure that it will be a great success, as we all enjoy the personal twist that you add to each of your books. This is, after all, your personal journey through flavour and I am already looking forward to the rest of the series.

By the way, dare I ask how many cookbooks there are in your own collection?!?

Hi Ken, so glad you like it, though apologies to your shelf space! It's a peculiar feeling when an idea becomes a manuscript and (today, when it is seen by others) feels like an actual book. I love every step of it though. I've a great deal of cookbooks - not sure how many, and I do try to thin them out once in a while, but not too succcessfully!

No need to apologise, Mark. I'm lucky because my wife knows how much I love them.

We're on the lookout for a new, old piece to fix that problem. We'll know it when we see it and will enjoy the search along the way.

Even now, it's fairly sure that I'll be expanding the collection in August, as we've booked a few days in Bath. The new and expanded Toppings is calling out to me!

I’m so pleased you’re bringing out another book in the series. Sour kept me experimenting during lockdown and Herb is just great. The cover of your new book is enticing and I imagine the photographs inside will be as beautiful as usual. I’m looking forward to receiving Spice, when it becomes available and enjoying more culinary adventures with your recipes.

Really loving the look of this … above all else I have a freezer drawer full of turmeric (don’t ask) and I’m hoping there is at least one recipe that helps me use this stash! x

PS An anise hyssop or two have just arrived and I’m not sure who to blame for that 😂

Thank you. Yes, plenty of recipes using dried turmeric in the book! And I’m very sorry to have depleted your bank account with the anise hyssop…x

And if you want an insight into that third space between contradictions- this Ted talk by Jad Adbumrad is rather wonderful if you’ve not seen 😊
